Dude that is pretty messed up. I'd have no remorse for them WHATSOEVER if they were banned. I have no problem offering services, but you can't force someone like that by being a complete jackass.

The situation you describe (shortened for easier reading) is becoming commonplace in GW. I've never seen it before this, and can only assume it is a carry over from Diablo2?

I've seen players in Pre-searing Ascalon selling their "services" to other players for coin: Im other words, "pay me 400gp if you want to know where your armor quests are."
Don't do it.

Here's the real easy solution:

Boycott them. Post their names and their guild name here, and warn all players of their nefarious practices. Then when nobody will give them the time of day, they will both:
a.) Restart as a new guild - costing them plenty of the gold they covet for guildhall, etc.
b.) Start screaming for a "name change" so they can get around the bad reputation they have earned.

Regards,

Talesin

talesin you can't do that on guru since there's this annoying policy of not naming names or be warned, etc no choice otherwise.

Yes, what's the guild name? And the names of my players? Seems like some people are gonna go on my ignore list.

EDIT: just read above post, so I guess nevermind. =/

Its the generalisation like this that makes me have such a bloody hard time in this game. People see me as a Warrior/Monk. and they assume Im some run-off-on-a-tangent noob warrior.

you know what. Im going to start recording the PUG's I get into. just to show you people that its NOT the warriors screwing up your games.

granted there are some idiots out there, but as this thread clearly points out. all the idiots DONT play warriors.

stop hate-bashing the warriors (at least me!)

I like playing as a warrior because #1 they get much better loot than any of the casters/distance characters. #2, their armor and weapons look badass and finally #3 warriors keep aggro off you so you can do your job by killing them quickly!

how do they get much better loot?

Isn't loot random, or did everyone decide it is damage based?

it apparently has to do with the amount of times you hit them not damage or anything but just sheer hitting.

play as a monk, a ele, a ranger and a warrior- and compare the difference.

Played through the game with elementalist, warrior, and monk mains. Drops are assigned randomly from what I've noticed. Only exception is if you're too far away from the mob, then funny things start to happen regarding loot distribution.

If you are far enough away it won't drop any loot for you, say you're group of 8 and 7 of your team mates went this way and you went that. You find a chest and they're far enough away you get all the loot assigned to you.

Btw if this more hitting=more drops crap is true which i don't think it is I'll start charging plats to heal your loot hording arse. Problem solved!

W/Mo's are POPULAR thus a higher majority of the "I must have the easiest class" players migrate to them. You can have just as bad a player as a monk. Good warriors don't fill up their bar with 8 damage skills they can't use effectively. Good warriors, believe me when I say the monks know the good ones from the ones skipping through daisies in their freaking jam jams. If i'm spamming heals on you and you're NOT fighting aataxe or some similiar mob that hits for 200+ or you charge into mobs without a thought for your surroundings and you find yourself lying in the dirt alot, you need to improve. If you're a good warrior generally your group does not die alot barring circumstance outside of your control.

The good warriors pick the secondary they want and make it work not because it's w/mo or w/x, classes do not MAKE a person good as evidenced by the high number of w/mo's who do in fact suck wind.

That is horrible to hear. I am a Protection/healing monk and I have had people offer me money to go to underworld or fissure, but to stop at the end and say give me money is just wrong. I do truely hope that these people have their account banned. Either way, this game is full of people who do devious things or just plain dont care and its hard to fight them all.

As for the last couple posts, a warrior doesnt suck, the person playing the warrior does. If you dont have the warrior than your casters take most of the primary damage from the enemies. Which we all know isnt as good as a warrior taking the damage for you; However, I do not like warriors who dont listen (a.k.a. run from fight to fight and get mad when the healer has no energy to heal them), or warriors who think they are the best character in game, because no character is the best one in game, dont believe me, try forming a party in the underworld or fissure with all of one character set. Only ones I can see possibly doing it is monks if they have half of the group acting as smiters. Even then it would be a tough trip, and probably short lived.

i have no objection to ppl charging money for services, however..charging ppl money in the end of mission..

if someone have to charge money they should do so before you ever enter mission.

If you drop the offering, you can always go back and get another one; my group did that mission, the guy dropped it, but as we were defending the temple he was nice, ran back and got another one, and we finished both the mission and the bonus easily
